The Inaugural SugarForge NewsletterWelcome to the inaugural SugarForge newsletter, the monthly newsletter that keeps the large and ever-growing Sugar developer community up-to-date with the latest developer news and information. SugarForge UpdatesHave you noticed the changes to SugarForge we've made to simplify project collaboration and enhance project descriptive content? Here are some of the more significant changes we've recently made.
We have more in store for SugarForge over the next several months as we continue to improve the premier destination for Sugar developers. Notice to Project Admins: It's more important than ever to categorize and describe your projects, and to document your projects with screenshots. The new SugarExchange (see this article) makes extensive use of your project definitions – you want to show your wares in the best light. We'll be implementing awards programs based on user reviews and other feedback over the summer. Don't miss out! Sugar Forums PlugSugarCRM has intensified its coverage of the Forums. The Community Previews and Upcoming Release forums for instance has thousands of people participating in the design and testing of Release 4.5. Sugar developers have been quick to incorporate the feedback. We cannot overstate the importance of this feedback, particularly this early in the release cycle. Check out our new Sugar Lounge forum where you can catch up on Sugar and provide feedback in an informal setting. Our more prolific posters (200+ posts) are showcased with a nice little picture and Sugar Team Members are easily identified as well. We view the Forums as a vital tool to our success so we'll continue enhancing it too over the next several months. |
Meet the Sugar Online Team Say hello to Lam Huynh. ![]() Lam designs and implements many of the changes we've discussed in this newsletter including the SugarForge revisions and the new SugarExchange.
Prolific Posters Sugar applauds the tireless energy of our top Forums posters. Here are the top 5 posters as of this publication: kbrill (1093!) It should be interesting to follow the race between malcolmh and ruchida! Improving SugarForge Be sure to enter a bug against the SugarForge project should you encounter any errors. SugarExchange is where Sugar users, administrators, and business owners browse, download and purchase among the hundreds of items made available via Sugar developers. SugarExchange complements SugarForge by providing an attractive, user-centric directory of items created by SugarForge developers. This allows SugarForge to focus on being a forge, the destination for Sugar project collaboration. |

SugarExchange in a NutshellSo, how does my project get listed on SugarExchange, you ask? Simple.
Note: As part of the beta launch of SugarExchange, we have populated the SugarExchange directory by publishing many SugarForge project release files. Files that display in SugarForge also display in SugarExchange. |
