Sugar Dev-User Group is a GO!

Thanks in large part to the efforts of Ken Brill (kbrill) and Max Blackmer (umeco) we're gearing up for the inaugural Sugar Dev-Users Group conference.

The first conference -- a web conference -- will be held Wednesday, November 15th at  noon CST (1pm EST; 10am PST). For you folks in EMEA and AsiaPac who cannot attend, don't worry. We'll record the session as well.

To register for the November 15th session and to view upcoming events and topics, visit our Sugar Dev-User Group registration page. We're limiting the first session to 25 participants so please register soon. You must have a SugarForge account in order to attend.

The goal of the first session is to provide a solid background for Sugar developers and customizers. Thus,  the almighty SugarBean -- the very heart of the entire system -- will take center stage.

We'll follow this with other important topics like understanding vardefs, implementing upgrade-safe customizations, and more.

Later we'll branch into more user-oriented topics and combine web conferences with on-site sessions at key cities.

The Sugar Dev-User Group is a community-driven effort with Sugar providing logistics and support. Please use this new forum to comment and to volunteer for an active role in this important endeavor.

SugarExchange is now live

Quite a bit of fanfare accompanied the launch of SugarExchange. We received several press mentions and our site visits have been steadily climbing.

The approach is very straightforward:
  • SugarExchange is a clean, secure place for any Sugar user to discover and download trustworthy, production-ready product.
  • SugarExchange is the natural extension of SugarForge.
  • SugarExchange provides the Sugar developer community an avenue to sell their products.

Keep your eye on SugarExchange as we continue to drive more user traffic its way.
