Trove Info
Why are you a leading contributor in the SugarCRM community? What are the benefits that you experience from your involvement?
This being my first project with SugarCRM, I found the community's shared experiences extremely helpful as I learned the ropes.
What inspired you to create this project?
Knowing that the hundreds of HubSpot customers that are also SugarCRM users could get a ton of value out of integration between our systems. The release of our Leads API in June 2010 and the great SugarCRM community documentation allowed me to jump right in and get coding.
What business pain points were you solving specifically?
HubSpot integrated with SugarCRM helps marketing generate and sales close more leads. The integration of the applications helps SugarCRM Sales Reps be more productive because they get intelligence on their leads' website activity and source. Marketers can also use HubSpot's SEO, social media marketing and email marketing tools to generate more leads.
Is there anything that the users should know about those? Something hidden/new in this project? Think of this as an opportunity to describe how it works to a user?
Cold calling and interruption marketing are things of the past. It's a lot easier to pick up the phone and call a lead when you know how that lead found your website, what they viewed, and what they signed up for. There's nothing like a little HubSpot Lead Intelligence to warm up that cold call!
What would you say to encourage additional community participation?
You get out of online communities what you put into them. HubSpot and SugarCRM both have awesome online communities where you can learn from others' experiences and help others grow by posting your own experiences.
What do you want to build next for Sugar?
I'm really excited to get to work on adding features to the integration later this spring once we've gotten more feedback from the user community!
