Why are you a leading contributor in the SugarCRM community? What are the benefits that you experience from your involvement? SierraCRM has been involved in CRM implementations since 1998 and when we came across SugarCRM, we knew that this was going to change the landscape of CRM. We believe strongly in the strength of the community of developer's world wide who believe in the spirit of open systems software. The benefits are first and foremost that Process Manger can add value to SugarCRM and that companies who use SugarCRM with Process Manager can see the results in their bottom line. Customers of companies who use SugarCRM are benefited in that they are automatically kept informed of the state of their opportunity or lead or contact. What other projects (besides the ones for Sugar) have you worked on? This is our first, however we are lining up a lead routing engine that we built a couple of years ago to post on SugarForge. We plan on migrating this and process manager when version 5 is released. What inspired you to create this project? The need to automate the many daily tasks that are all part of a new lead, opportunity, contact or account. What business pain points were you solving specifically? Allowing software to take the responsibility of interacting with your customers automatically, thus enabling customer service reps and sales reps to do what they do best, selling and servicing their companies products. Is there anything that the users should know about those? Something hidden/new in these modules? Think of this as an opportunity to describe how it works to a user. Nothing that is not mentioned in the user and installation guide. What would you say to encourage additional community participation? If we don't support the community and continue to enhance SugarCRM OS by contributing add on modules and other tools and utilities, then this wonderful open source business application is at risk of not gaining the momentum needed to compete head to head with other CRM vendors. What do you want to build next for Sugar Suite? Further enhance the Process Manager engine. Build a customer portal to allow customers to create cases, log notes against cases, etc. |
