OK, although I wasn't planning any more releases before a major overhaul, I couldn't resist fixing the Outlook all-day event problem. That's the only change in this release. If you are not syncing with Outlook you probably don't need it.

I realize that this project has been quiet for a while as I've been busy with other things, but recently I've been giving the code a thorough overhaul. A new release is imminent once I've completed a round of internal testing. The new features include: * Funambol 6.5 compatible. No need to use 3.0 foundation module * No mods to SugarCRM installation required. Should work with any recent version of SugarCRM * Now uses Axis 1.4 and therefore fully Java 5 compliant Hopefully I'll have a beta release available within the next week or so. More news later...

The Archive Email form is now a single page that allows you to search and edit the email easily. * Quick Creates. On the Archive Email form, you can now create Accounts, Contacts, Leads, Opportunities, and Tasks by selecting the type from the drop down and clicking "Quick Create". * Auto-search configuration option added to Outlander Configuration. You can now control whether or not the Archive Email process automatically launches the search when it starts up. Jitterbit 1.3 is a major release that significantly improves the overall architecture for enterprise companies and the overall user experience. Highlights include: • Significant productivity gains and easier maintenance • Overcome limitations of source and target system APIs with new schemes for handling larger volumes of data • Native connectivity to LDAP/Active Directory as a source and target system • New syntax within the formula builder makes handling complex integrations and data transformations easier than ever before • Increased flexibility and scalability for large transactions Technical improvements that made these value adds possible include: XML Streaming and Chunking of data through multi-threaded processes improved performance of the Jitterbit server in handling larger volumes of transactions and data sets. XML Streaming allows the Jitterbit Server to generate and post XML without the need to load the entire XML structure into memory improving processing speeds of large data sets dramatically. That, combined with chunking, which divides data into optimal chucks for a target system to process has been very beneficial for users accessing application via web services e.g. SugarCRM. Using requirements from organizations like NASA to enable non-development staff in IT to easily setup integrations with LDAP servers, including Active Directory, Jitterbit has released native LDAP Source and Target support within the graphical environment. Users who wish to get data from an LDAP server have a complete graphical environment to identify the LDAP classes they need and view its data just like any other supported Jitterbit system. Jitterbit 1.3 has also made creating, updating and removing data from the LDAP server completely graphical. Provisioning network accounts, creating Exchange Mailboxes and assigning users to distribution lists using data from your HR or CRM system can be completely configured and monitored using Jitterbit’s graphical environment. In order to support uploading large documents via HTTP to applications such as Microsoft Sharepoint, Jitterbit expanded its implementation of the HTTP protocol through the inclusion of File Uploads. This change has enabled users to apply Jitterbit to a variety of different applications and content management systems. Secunia Research (http://secunia.com/advisories/27471) reported a security issue for Module Builder 4.5.1.c (not affiliated with the Sugar Module Builder, due to be released in Sugar 5.0) when downloading the generated install file. The reason is a missing SugarCRM security command at the beginning of code. The generated modules are not affected, only the development system, with this moderately critical issue. Later versions, (named BuilderWizard) are not affected by this issue. You can correct manually, if you have ModuleBuilder installed, adding the security line just after the < ? on file DownloadModule.php The line is: if(!defined('sugarEntry') || !sugarEntry) die('Not A Valid Entry Point');

The addon module "ZuckerHierarchy" uses the "Reports To" field to build a hierarchical user tree, where each branch is separated from its siblings. It can be used to make Sugar multi-client capable and to build user hierarchies of any depth: a user in one branch won't see contacts, accounts, opportunites etc assigned to a user in another branch, only ones assiged to a subordinated user in the same branch. It can be enabled on a per-module base.

The major enhancements include default user/account roles and role administration. There are also sql script included to ease the one time setup of assigning roles to records. Feature Requests: #388 - When a new account or user is created it will assign any roles to it that are marked as default user or account roles. #389 - Conversion Inherit When you convert a lead to a contact, opportunity, and account it should inherit the roles from the lead. #390 - Give a non-admin user the ability to assign roles to records. This requires delete rights to the record. Bugs: #385 - Unable to uninstall SQL Setup Scripts: Including in the zip is an sqlscript folder with scripts to help set up existing data with the roles that you deem appropriate. These scripts are guides. They require that you alter them for your organization's needs. For example, assign accounts that are from this state to this role. Adjust as needed.

Module Builder is getting ready for Sugar 5.0. It was completely redesigned and now is Wizard driven. The Basic Wizard is all you need to create a new module in minutes. The Advanced wizard offer a fine grained control over layout and logic. You don't need to uninstall the previous version of Module Builder, this beta release is named Builder Wizard and can be used side by side with older versions. Builder wizard definitions are independent from Module Builder. It does not use the old Simple template You don't need the Studio to create the layout The new definition pages are self explanatory The module can be installed directly (no download/upload) for testing. New functionalities already implemented: 1. Module images (other than ball&square) 2. List view fields 3. Module Languages with translation on the fly

If you are interested in using SugarCRM on Amazon's EC2 hosting service then you can use the AMI of the sugar appliance. The AMI ID is: ami-fe9a7f97 Please note, this image has no static storage. If you shut it down the data in it will be lost. For that reason you should use the backup plugin to do regular data dumps in case you need to recover. WARNING: Be sure to reset the rPath administration page password and the password for Sugar.

Time and Invoicing new release

Our new release (v0.9.9e) includes support for firefox, users in any timezone and various fixes and enhancements. Time and Invoicing allows users to enter time against cases and then bill that time against invoices. If you use SugarCRM to track what you do in a service context then you should look at Time and Invoicing. Once this version has bedded in we will release a version 1 which will be classed as mature/stable.
